Please Join Us in Prayer for Those Challenged With Covid-19

Special Covid-19 prayer podcast link can be found here.

Over 80 musicians, athletes and public figures have been diagnosed with Covid-19. Some have recovered through the grace of god. We continue to keep them and their families lifted in prayer. Some of those listed are announced in the video above. They include John Mayer, Fred Hammond, Tiffany Haddish and Babyface.

You can find an extensive list of additional people who have been diagnosed or challenged with Covid-19 at Magic radio station’s website. They did a great job and provided a very thorough list.
This painting by Cynthia Wilson and related merchandise will be on sale in our shop. 30 percent of the proceeds  will be donated to Covid Help and Relief efforts.

Top this!

Listen to the audio podcast at this link.

Please pray for everyone on the above list and join us in prayer either on Zoom, during the live Facebook broadcast, podcast, or dedicated phone line. Remember also that you can take the time out to “pray in place” and/or virtually with your prayer partners when the spirit so moves you if you are in a safe place.

This list will be updated regularly. We hope and pray there will soon be no need to update it. I pray also that the information received is truthful and accurate. Some of the issues around inaccuracy I am sure have to do with security, safety and privacy concerns and is totally understandable.

Nonetheless it is  unfortunate that people who sincerely love these entertainers sometimes have no idea what is really going on with them or what stage of an illness they are at. I know that certain information can’t be shared. But some information that is being withheld can be safely shared and should be. The public has a right to know in most cases at least whether the person is still receiving treatment, whether they remain hospitalized or whether they have passed on. In that latter case, that information would provide a needed cue for them to send expressions of sympathy to their next of kin. In addition, it would also allow them to begin the process of properly grieving the loss themselves so they can initiate the needed process of closure.

If you don’t want to give a street address or location of the hospital or nursing facility where they are receiving treatment share a special P.O. Box or other drop-off location where fans can send get well cards, gifts and other well wishes. If the artist has a cash app or other mode of obtaining donations please reveal it so folks can send in their donations.

If you/they would like an in person visit or have a  special prayer  request, please have your caregiver or family member call the following toll free number message line. Leave a number and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

Toll free number-877-776-7442.

You may leave a voicemail anytime of day or night to request emergency prayer and virtual prayer visits.

Obama’s Promised Land: Let the Healing Begin

Scripture for Today

“No good tree bears bad fruit, nor again does a bad tree bear good fruit , for each tree is known by its own fruit.”Romans 6:43

It is really good to see President Obama back on the scene again.  It has been comforting to listen to his level-headed responses in interviews about his latest book, A Promised Land. His long awaited weigh in on the current administration’s policies and reactions to crises these past four years is a needed salve for the country, as we heal from the emotional distress caused by uncertainties of a global pandemic and social ills compounded by the Trump administration. The timing couldn’t be better now that the Democrats have won back the White House with another historic ticket-a black woman serving as Vice President and his own Vice President elected now as President. The signs couldn’t be more auspicious for getting the country back on track.

Vacation Time...From the Archives...”Sing a Simple Song” and “Christ Representers” Good Songs Any Year

I am continuing to sort, pack and organize stuff, memories, books,

papers that were long lost but recently recovered. I came across a blog article I wrote on Sly Stone ten years ago. I was following up on him as part of a series I was doing on that particular blog called “Whatever Happened to?”It was a feature column keeping periodic tabs on and seeking to uncover the lifestyles and whereabouts of artists the public has not seen or heard from in a while. To shine a light on what they are currently doing, so to speak. Kind of like BET’s Unsung except with more emphasis on those who have been enormously popular and tremendously sung , but are not being heard from in pop news culture these days.

I had come across an article I read about Sly in a newspaper that wrote that he was living in a very small trailer home. I could not believe my eyes when I saw the photo. I was concerned so I posted a blog article. I provided a link to the article from the blog but I would have to Google to find it again. Hopefully,it’s still searchable, as that was a decade ago. Then, there was another article that reported that he was ill and was in a nursing home. See attached below. know I am late in my vacation plans and I regret I have not been able to take full advantage of the very kind offers for respite. All I can say now is please keep the light on.

In addition, there are folks I want to check on in light of this coronavirus spread across the country. But we serve an on time God who knows my situation. So I will remain hopeful for the future and remain prayerful that everything is proceeding in divine order. I just need to have things organized and properly stored before I go.

While so doing, music is keeping me energized, motivated and spiritually uplifted. There’s a lot to go through. My soundtrack this morning and into mid-afternoon has been “Life Music:Stage Two”. I enjoy Jonathan’s latest release “People” and most tracks on the album like Best Thingv, Cathedral, Situation which I play a lot. But “Life Music:Stage Two” is my favorite. “Christ Representers” has become my regular anthem. I know it’s a five year old release circa 2015. But It really is a beautiful song, lyrics and melody included and he sings it with such verve and sincerity. Its one of those ‘getting up early in the morning’ songs that gets you inspired and pumped up to worship, fellowship with others and let your light shine. He sings “I’ve been anointed to be the light and glorify my God...that, the piano prelude...and the chorus proclaiming “We are Christ Representers. We let our light shines so bright we make ‘em say wooah...” does it every time. His singing leaves no doubt in my mind that he is anointed.(okay podcast) Got that.
